TASK 3 REVIEW FOOD
FOOD REVIEW BY AFNAN ILMAN
Hello everyone! In this latest post, I am going to review one of my favorite foods. The food I mentioned is salted egg butter chicken from Jibril! It is a hidden halal bar and restaurant in SS15, Subang Jaya where we need to go through a “wall” to get in. It was exciting as it gives off Harry Potter vibes. For newcomers, finding this restaurant can be quite tricky. Jibril is famous for its salted egg butter chicken meal, and it is one of their signatures. The chicken chunks are fried with salted egg yolk and with a side of creamy butter sauce with some “cili padi” cuts. In most of the places that I went to before, they made their salted egg yolk sauce sweet, but Jibril makes their sauce savory and salty, perfect to be eaten with rice. A dish I would have over and over again, and it ultimately becomes my favorite. WARNING: order only when you are REALLY hungry as the portion is bigger than the regular one! The price for this meal is quite reasonable in my opinion, as it is only RM14.00. That was the latest price updated from JIBRIL if I am not mistaken. Last but not least, Jibril is quite far if you are from Kuala Lumpur but fret not, they have Mona by Jibril in Publika now! The menu is a bit different, but you still can get their famous salted egg butter chicken. It is easier to find a parking spot too.
A&W BEEF CONEY COMBO (MUHAMMAD ADDIN NAZA BIN RAMLI)
Many different types of food in the world. Western, Chinese, Indian, and other cuisines are available. We are extremely fortunate to be able to discover all of these types of food in Malaysia. But this time I'm going to review one of Malaysia's fast food restaurants, A&W. the quality of the food is still up to standard, The the hotdog bun get’s soggy after being soaked with the minced meat sauce. Some onions also fell out from the side, and more Fell off when eating. If eaten without the packaging box, eating it bare hand Would create a mess. The curly fries is as expected, some are crispy and some Are soft. The mashed potato is too dry, and makes me thirsty. Overall, the value of this meal is not worth the money (RM27.90, RM23.89 after discount). It is too expensive for a hotdog, curly fries, mashed potatoes and root beer. but the price tag of RM27.90 For one’s meal defeated the whole purpose of fast food being affordable. If this set can be controlled within the price of RM15, it would be worth the cost. A&W should improve on the packaging of the product, as the packaging box for the hotdog is Plain white and is not aesthetically pleasing. A&W should redesign the packaging box For the hotdogs such as add logo and images on top, or even cute stickers and patterns to Appeal to children as their target demographic. Its very recommended you must try it one day
Roasted Chicken Rice (Siti Nur Zahira)
There are so many different cuisines and food preferences built by cultural and ethnical backgrounds, geographical location and social classes. Some of the recipes we keep through generations and these old traditions and knowledge are the only one untouchable aspect that people try to bring with them. There are just so much to choose from, whether traditional or modern cuisines. The staple food in Malaysia is rice, just like the other Asian countries. Chicken rice is one of dish that you can find easily in Malaysia. But to find the really excellent ones, a little knowledge is needed. One way to find the authentic one is at Chicken Rice Shop. There’s a lot of Chicken Rice Shop branches in Malaysia and it’s very easy to find from my house. The restaurant itself is pretty easy to find and it is open until 10pm which is perfect for everyone.
I prefer the roast chicken variety with super fragrant rice and killer chili. It’s really affordable as it comes with a set that you can choose from. The price started from RM18.45 for 1 person. You can get the value meals for 2 person that only going to cost you RM44.75. The taste is so good that you can’t forgot. The chicken, especially when it just comes out from the kitchen is marvelous. Chopped into mouth sized bits, is succulent, with a crisp, tasty skin. The dish comes with three dips, chili sauce, ground ginger and an oyster sauce – and – garlic mix. The chili is excellent, spicy and hot.
Lastly, for the taste and environment, it’s totally worth it. This menu will be everyone favorite as it can be enjoyed from all ages. This lip – smacking dish will twist your tongue with its savory flavor. As the taste it’s 10/10 for me and highly recommend for everyone to try this dishes.
CRAB RANGOON (NUR DARLYNNA)
I discovered this viral Crab Rangoon recipe two weeks ago while watching a tiktok. I decided to make them myself after looking up some recipes. 8 ounces cream cheese, 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger, 2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic, 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce, 1/4 cup chopped green onions, 8 ounces shelled cooked crab, 1 large egg are the ingredients we'll need. About 30 wonton wrappers (3 in. square) You can also use popiah skin, vegetable oil for frying, hot Chinese-style mustard, soy sauce mixed with hot chilli oil, and Asian sweet chilli sauce instead of wonton wrappers. The first step is to figure out how to make it. In a food processor, combine cream cheese, ginger, garlic, and soy sauce until smooth. Second step, place the mixture in a medium mixing bowl. Green onions and crab should be added at this point. In a small dish, whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Place the wonton wrappers/popiah skin on a flat surface. Brush on a thin layer of egg wash to completely cover the surface. 1 tbsp crab mixture, spooned into the centre of each wonton Pull up the corners so that they all meet in the middle, then press the edges together to seal. Place on a rimmed baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Fill a wide pot with 2 in. oil in the third step. A deep-fry thermometer reads 350° on medium heat. Working in batches of 3 or 4, fry rangoons until golden brown, about 8 minutes, turning as needed. Transfer the rangoons to a plate lined with paper towels using a slotted spoon. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving with dipping sauces. These decadent appetisers, stuffed with fresh crab, are a step up from the rangoons (deep-fried dumplings) commonly served at Chinese restaurants. They can be prepared ahead of time and frozen, then heated up when visitors come. Set out a variety of dipping sauces, as everyone has a favourite.
